at yello, our goal is simple: we want you to be able to sit in any of our stylists' chairs and receive consistently high-quality hair. one of the biggest challenges in the hair industry is delivering that same level of service across a team—and across a wide range of offerings.
so we made a choice early on: instead of trying to do everything, we decided to do one thing really, really well. we stick to our niche and what we love most—blondes.
by narrowing our focus, we’re able to train every stylist deeply in balayage, highlights, and cuts. even within cuts, we specialize further—working mainly with shoulder-length or longer hair. anything much shorter, like a pixie, is outside our day-to-day. that doesn’t mean we don’t have stylists who can absolutely crush a pixie cut—it just depends on who you’re booking with, so we don’t advertise it.
when you think of yello, we want you to think blondes. sun-kissed, dimensional, natural, bright—we do it all (well all when it comes to blondes). it’s why we call ourselves the sunniest place in portland, even when it’s raining outside, any one of our stylists can give you the perfect sun kissed hair.
